My Mum's Craft Shop DT - DIY Legend

Good Morning Everyone! It's my day to share a card on the My Mum's Craft Shop blog and I have been playing with some new stash! I recently received some of the new Wild Rose Studio papers from the 'Man about town' paper pack which is available here from My Mum's Craft shop. They are just fabulous! The colours are very sophisticated and the patterns are great. I used 3 different papers layered onto black card to build up my card design and wrapped the largest layer with black ribbon tied in a bow.

I stamped the DIY Legend stamp onto white card and cut it out leaving a small border before adding it to the square panel with foam pads. I used the Dienamics Stacking stars die to cut some more stars from black card and added them to the card with glue. I popped a sentiment from the Birthday Circles set on top of the largest star and finished with lots of little stick on gems.
I hope you have a lovely Thursday!

Pollycraft Linky Party!

Hello Everyone! I hope you are having a good week so far. I am counting the days now until the long Weekend! I have Friday off and have booked the 3 days off the following week so am looking forward to the break. I have a card to share today which I made using a digi from one of my favourite Pollycraft ranges, the Swings and Slides. This image is called 'Spring Morning' and is available here from Pollycraft. I coloured the image using my Promarkers to match some My Mind's Eye papers which were in my scraps box and used some Dienamics dies to cut some shapes from Kraft card. The sentiment I used is from Penny Black.

I will be linking my card up to the Tales from Pollycraft blog as Paula is holding a Farewell linky Party as it is now just under 2 weeks until Pollycraft closes. You can read all about it here.

I am also entering my card into the 'I love Promarkers' challenge as the theme is to use a digi.
Have a lovely Wednesday!

Passion for Promarkers DT - Olympics

Good Morning Everyone! I apologise for my absence over the past few days, I had a busy weekend and didn't have much time for crafting! However, I am back today with a card I did squeeze in on Saturday. Thank you so much to all of you who took part in last week's Passion for Promarkers Anniversary celebration. It was lovely seeing all your wonderful Birthday cards. We have a great theme this week which is......

Olympics!!

We would like to see cards featuring sports, rings or even inspired by the Olympics colours in the rings on the photo on the blog. I have made a card using traditional red white and blue and the Olympics Saturated Canary image 'Olympics' as she was just perfect for the theme.

I used PB and J Basic Grey papers to cover my card base and to paper piece a Union Jack which was layered onto kraft before I added a stitched border. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and cut it out leaving a small border before adding it to the card with foam pads. The stamp image and sentiment are from a Portobello road collection as is the button and I added a little gingham bow from my stash. I finished with a cluster of flowers and some little gems. I hope you will be able to join us for this week's Challenge. We have
a great prize for you as we are sponsored by the fabulous Joanna Sheen and she is generously offering a £10.00 voucher to our winner.

Make sure you check out the Challenge blog for lots of inspiration from the DT!

We are all sharing projects using the beautiful ' Skool Days ' stamp today which will be released today from 10am as part of a set of brand new Country Cousins and will be on sale at Funky Kits.

I used the image to decorate a card which I had covered with October Afternoon Sidewalk papers. After I had coloured the little girl in with my Promarkers, I cut her out leaving a small border. I added a Whiff of Joy sentiment stamp and  some gingham ribbon from my stash. The little apple button was from the NEC.

Your next stop on the hop is the lovely Mina and she has another beautiful card to share with you! Make sure you leave comments along the way for the chance to win some lovely Candy. I hope you have a lovely Friday!

My Mum's Craft Shop DT - Cool Britannia!!

Good Morning Everyone! It's my day for sharing my makes on the My Mum's Craft Shop blog  today with something a bit different again from me this week :-) Isn't it fun to try something new once in a while! Kitty recently received a delivery of the Cool Britannia Kanban collection and I couldn't resist having a play with some of the papers and sentiments to create a card and gift for my Father In Law.

I first made an easel card with a kraft card base and then added toppers and sentiments and lots of bits and bobs from my stash  to decorate the card.

I altered an acetate box we received with some office supplies to put a little gift or voucher in. I simply cut pieces of the Union Jack paper and sewed around the edges and stuck it to the box with double sided tape. I lined the box with kraft card to hide the messy tape.

I added a sentiment circle to which I added ribbon tails with Ribbon Girl Ribbons and a little button as a finishing touch with a couple of pearls. This range is fabulous for making Men's cards, perfect also for Father's Day! I am entering my card into this week's Papertake Weekly Challenge as the theme is 'True Colours' where you have to use your National Colours.
Have a lovely Thursday!

Sugar Nellie Country Cousins Release Blog Hop - Lei-la

Good Morning Everyone! Welcome to my blog for day 3 of the sneak peaks!! If you are stopping by for the Sugar Nellie Country Cousins Blog Hop you should have come here from the lovely Maria's blog. We are all sharing projects using the beautiful 'Lei-la' stamp today which will be released Friday as part of a set of brand new Country Cousins and will be on sale at Funky Kits. I am also sharing my tag today on the Sugar Nellie Blog and am kicking off the hop today.

I used Lei-la to decorate a large tag which I had covered with My Mind's Eye Nostalgia papers. After I had coloured Lei-la in I cut her out using a craft knife and tiny scissors, it took me a while but was really worth it!
I added her to the tag with foam pads after I had added a strip of lace and a Melissa Frances rub-on. The scalloped border and butterflies were punched with Martha Stewart punches.

Your next stop on the hop is the lovely Mina and she has another beautiful card to share with you! Make sure you leave comments along the way for the chance to win some lovely Candy and pop back Friday on release day when we will be starting all over again with another new Country Cousins image. I hope you have a lovely Wednesday!

All the team are sharing sneak peeks of the same image today called 'Cat Sitting' which will be released Friday as part of a set of brand new Country Cousins and will be on sale at Funky Kits.
I used Echo Park 'This and That Graceful' papers on my card and some beautiful ribbon from The Ribbon girl. The sentiment is an old favourite from Elzybells and I stamped it on a ticket I got from the Farnborough show. The flowers and button are from my stash.

I coloured the gorgeous image with my Promarkers and then cut it out leaving a small border before adding it to my card with foam pads. I loved colouring this image and I especially like the cute little cat!

Sugar Nellie Country Cousins Release Blog Hop - Telltale

Good Morning Everyone! Welcome to my blog! If you are stopping by for the Sugar Nellie Country Cousins Blog Hop you should have come here from the lovely Maria's blog. All the team are sharing sneak peeks of the same image today called 'Telltale' which will be released Friday as part of a set of brand new Country Cousins and will be on sale at Funky Kits.
I used Echo Park 'Sweet Day' papers on my card and some beautiful ribbon from The Ribbon girl. The charm has been in my stash for ages and I can't remember where I got it....the sentiment I have used is from Hero Arts.

I coloured the gorgeous image with my Promarkers and then cut it out leaving a small border before adding it to my card with foam pads. The frame around the image was created using a Nestabilities die and I traced around another one to make the oval inside the frame. The flowers are from various places and the button was in my stash.

Your next stop on the hop is the lovely Mina and she has a stunning card to share with you! We have all had so much fun playing with these new images. Make sure you leave comments along the way for the chance to win some lovely Candy and pop back tomorrow when we will be starting all over again with another new Country Cousins image. Whiff of Joy DT for the Whiff of Joy Challenge and some exciting DT news!

Good Morning Everyone! I hope you are having a good weekend. I am typing this post sitting on my new sofa :-) My house is really starting to look lovely now and it was so exciting to get our sofa and chairs delivered yesterday! My Dad also did a wonderful job helping us to hang some pictures and mirrors which involved lots of drilling and also some rails for my punches in my craft room! I will share some pictures later.
I have a card to share with you today which I have made for the Whiff of Joy Challenge. The theme this fortnight is paper piecing and I have used the very sweet Nora with Raincoat who is available here from Whiff of Joy and is perfect for paper piecing!

I used papers from the Blush pad from My Mind's Eye in vintage pinks and creams and this leads me to my 'DT news'. I am beyond thrilled to tell you that I have joined the Ribbon Girl Colour Challenge them and my card today follows the them of their latest Challenge. I have used lots of Ribbon Girl bits on my card including the beautiful ribbon , the pins and the lovely spotty pink button.

I have been a regular customer of the Ribbon Girl ever since they opened and it took me all of 2 seconds to accept a position on the team! Mary and Andrea have a lovely shop full of so many tempting beautiful goodies and are such lovely ladies! I feel very honoured to be joining a team full of so many Designers I admire too! I have lots of crafting planned for today after the last (for a while....) trip to the dump and food shopping so I'd better get cracking so I can start playing :-) Have a lovely Sunday!

Sugar Nellie DT - A Gorgeous Tag!

Good Morning Everyone! I hope you had a good week. I am so glad it is finally the Weekend! I managed to get back into my Craft Room for a proper Crafting session on Thursday and had some fun playing with some of my new papers, I treated myself to the Echo Park 'Sweet Day' papers this week and they are beautiful, I love the fact that they seem to have some texture and I couldn't resist making a little tag with some scraps I had left from a Project I can't quite share with you just yet...

The papers were layered up and sewed around the edges with a little line of zigzag stitching over the gingham strip in the centre and I then added them to a luggage tag I bought from WHSmiths. The sentiment is a little rub on (I love the font) and the flowers are from my stash  and Whiff of Joy. I used a very sweet Gorgeous Girl image coloured with my Promarkers to match the papers and then cut her out before adding her to the tag with Foam pads. I made an eyelet for the punched hole by diecutting a small circle and punching it with my Crop-o-dile. I threaded it with some spotty ribbon from my stash which I tied with some twine and a small heart charm from my stash and I finished with a couple of small gems . I hope you have a lovely Saturday!

Some sad news, some new digis and some bargains!

Good Morning Everyone. The lovely Paula from Pollycraft shared some sad news with the rest of Blogland yesterday :-( Pollycraft will be closing down in a few weeks. Paula is preparing for the new arrival of her baby and has made the difficult decision to close down. I am sad but so happy for Paula and this exciting new time in her life. I have learnt so much working with the Pollycraft digis over the years and will always be so grateful to Paul for letting me join the DT and for letting me play with all her gorgeous creations. I am going to miss the excitement of seeing new digis from Paula as I always feel so inspired by her images!
I have used one of the new images which were released yesterday on the card I am showing you today. I had so much fun making this card and I love this image!

I created an aperture card and added acetate to the aperture and a mirror card frame to create a little porthole. The underwater scene was created using dies and pinking edge scissors.

You can see all the new digis here and you can read Paula's post about closing Pollycraft here and she also has a little treat for you too. There are a couple of freebies here that you are going to love and there are some special offers too....

My Mum's Craft Shop DT - Steampunk pink!

Hello Everyone! I hope you are well and having a good week. I had a pretty rubbish evening yesterday, water has been slowly leaking from my water inlet pipe to my washing machine, probably since it was fitted and has ruined some of my kitchen floor. My kitchen is a complete mess with the floor all pulled up and the washing machine pulled out so my planned evening of crafting did not happen :-( Hopefully we will get it sorted today but I could do without all the drama!

The card I have to share with you today was the one you may have spotted on my desk yesterday...it was made using some gorgeous stamps from the Creative Expressions 'Steampunk Dreams' set which is available here from My Mum's Craft Shop. I created a background using Spun Sugar and Victorian Velvet distress inks and Dreamweaver brushes then stamped some of the cogs and butterflies using more distress inks.

The dressform and little butterflies were stamped onto kraft and cut out and I stamped the dress form again onto a bookpage and cut out the wings and placed it behind the dress form. I stamped the sentiment and then sewed around the edges before adding to black card and the card base and then added the dressform, metal cog and butterflies. I finished with a button, a paper rose and some gems. I hope you have a lovely Thursday.

WOYWW - A card....finally!!

Good Morning Everyone! I can't believe it is nearly a whole week since I posted on my blog. I can't remember a time when I have been so busy! It's so ironic that we moved house partly so I could have a craft room but I haven't managed to spend much time in in yet.

I had a migraine yesterday so housey stuff went on the backburner when I had recovered and I made a card last night using some of my new Creative Expressions stamps. This is how my desk looks this morning! Messy! But hopefully quite quick to tidy up :-) I finally had a play blending inks with my brushes I got in February when I was demonstrating at Farnborough for Ali Craft. I am linking up to Julia's blog to show off my desk. If you want to share yours and see lots more workspaces why not hop over there now!
Have a lovely Wednesday. I promise to be back in the morning to share a photo of my card.

My Mum's Craft Shop DT - Hello.....Summer?

Good Morning Everyone, I hope you are well and having a good week so far. I am very much looking forward to Friday and the weekend as I am feeling very tired and my mojo has taken a real battering since we moved house. Too many other things to think about at the moment! It is my day to share a Project on the  My Mum's Craft Shop blog today and I have made a mini shaped card using some of the new goodies that recently arrived in the Shop.

I have a lovely growing collection of Pure Innocence stamps and couldn't resist slipping this one in my basket as soon as I saw her.  She is called 'Freckles' and looks lovely coloured in bright colours and paper pieced to match the beautiful Hello Summer papers from Echo Park which are available here.
To make the card, I cut a card blank from white card using a Spellbinders die and cut another scalloped circle the same size from stripey paper. I punched green patterned paper with a Martha Stewart grass punch and added it to the bottom of some cloud paper before die cutting it into a circle and stitching it to my scalloped circle. The cloud was cut with a Die-namics die and topped with a sentiment that came with the stamp and a button die cut with another Die-namics die. The little flower is from the Hobby House.
Have a lovely Thursday!

A sweet Sherbert Pip

Good Morning Everyone!  I hope you are all well and had a good Bank Holiday Weekend. It's my turn to share a card today on the Sugar Nellie blog and I have made a card using one of the adorable Sherbert Pip images. This one is really cute but seems to be out of stock at the moment but you can find lots more adorable Pips right here at Funky Kits.

I have coloured her in with my Promarkers to match these sweet My Mind's Eye papers which are from the Sunny Side stack then cut her out. I found this shaped card base in my stash and layered all the papers onto red card before sewing around the edges, the sentiment is by Craftwork cards. I added a cute little gingham bow topped with a paper flower and then added a few gems and a little spotty button to finish.
Have a lovely Wednesday!

Whiff of Joy DT for the Whiff of Joy Challenge

Good Morning Everyone! I hope you had a good week, mine has been busy but enjoyable. My New House is starting to look really lovely and already feels like home. I haven't done any crafting in my new Craft Room yet, I've been too busy unpacking clothes and finding places for things to live. I have a card to share with you today made using one of the new stamps which were released at Whiff of Joy at the end of last month. I have made my card following the theme from this fortnight's Whiff of Joy Challenge which is Bingo! I have chosen the line which has lace, pins and flowers on it.

The paper I have used is by Echo Park and I found this piece in my scraps box. The stamp is called 'Reading Cherub' and is available here from Whiff of Joy. I used a Pink Petticoat sentiment and I think the lace is from The Ribbon Girl. I added a bow topped with a little pearl button and then put a couple of pins behind it and finished with a couple of little flowers. I hope you have a lovely Bank Holiday Weekend!

My New Craft Room and some exciting news!!

Hello Everyone! I feel like the luckiest girl in the world today :-) I have been working away this evening unpacking boxes....welcome to my new Craft Room!

I didn't have a Craft Room in our old house so today is a day I have been looking forward to for ages! I used furniture and storage bits we had in our old house and cobbled together what I think is a decent little area to craft in.

I can't wait to make my first card in it! I also had some wonderful news today...I have been accepted onto the Passion for Promarkers Design Team, I am so excited to have made the team as I love my Promarkers to bits! Have you spotted their swanky new home on my desk? Have a great evening!

A Christening card for a Baby Boy

Hello Everyone! I hope you are well. We have been invited to a Christening at the weekend by one of my Hubby's work colleagues so I managed to get a quick card made in between packing on Sunday.
I am not totally happy with this one but there is no time to make another one. It just feels a little bare, I think there is too much white space around the image, I should have cut it into a rectangle....

The image I used is from Lili of the Valley and was very quick to colour in with my Promarkers. I die cut it and layered it onto some kraft. The gingham paper is by Pink Petticoat and I found it printed already in my scraps box. The sentiment is also by Pink Petticoat. I added a ribbon from my stash and a vintage button and lots of flowers from my stash. I finished with some pearl pins and some stick on pearls.
Have a lovely Tuesday!
